Overview of the Knights of Rizal
The Knights of Rizal (KOR) is a Philippine order of chivalry established in 1911 to honor and promote the ideals of national hero Dr. José Rizal. Founded by Colonel Antonio C. Torres, it later received a legislative charter under Republic Act No. 646 in 1951, making it the only officially recognized order of knighthood in the country. Members are conferred the title “Sir,” and their affiliation is legally protected. Today, the Order has over 25,000 members across 131 chapters in the Philippines and 61 abroad, with its international headquarters located on Bonifacio Drive, Manila.
